MATURITY!!
"I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts". Psalms 119:100. My friend, people automatically assume that the gray-headed senior citizen is mature and the energetic adolescent is immature. In the Christian life, there is no such thing as quickie quality or microwave maturity. God is not in a hurry and He does not rush the development of our Christian life. Maturation is described as "the emergence of personal and behavior characteristics through growth process". The Psalmist indicates (119:100) that a youth is able to have a greater degree of understanding than the elders by meditating on the Word of God and following its instruction. This is why in some ethnic churches while the adults are fighting, arguing, and drumming up for positions, the young people walks away shaking their head saying "When this people will grow up"? A mature person is too big to act little- a child acts little because he is immature. A mature person doesn't enjoy feeling that he has been mistreated. A child does. A mature person doesn't have to have his way about everything. But a child says- " If you don't play my way, I'll pick up my toys and go home or to the other neighbors house" (or leave the church). A mature person doesn't have to head the list and be first in every thing. But a child that doesn't get to be first will often pout. A mature person is flexible and adaptable. But a child finds it difficult to change his plans. Well, did I describe you? The best place to find help in maturing is the Bible. It talks about growing. It makes responsible people and gives them a whole new concept of living. GROW UP MAN GROW UP, DID YOU HEAR?
