THE UNCONQUERABLE CHRIST

Woe to a world that vainly tries to escape from Jesus Christ. They may deny His deity, dispute His power, disbelieve His resurrection, explain away His existence, deride Him as phantom, insult Him as a spirit medium, philosophize over Him as a myth, accept Him as a mere human teacher, misquote His words to sustain their opinions, pervert His teachings, and despise His precious blood; but when all this is done, their difficulty is not removed, for Christ the king is still lives at God's right hand, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever;" the Christ "who was, who is, and who is to come;" He who had glory with his Father "before the world was," shame with man during His earthly pilgrimage; and who having suffered these things, has entered "into His glory,"-- that same Jesus still lives in all the majesty of His divine character, and in all the powers of an everlasting life. Herod could not kill Him, satan could not seduce Him, death could not destroy Him, the sepulchre could not hold Him; and yet He stands forth upon the highest pinnacle of heavenly glory, proclaimed of God, acknowledged by angels, adored by saints and feared by devils, as a living personal Christ; rejected, crucified, exalted, glorified, and coming again in like manner as He ascended; to raise the dead, to judge the world, to save His people, to be glorified in His saints, to crush the usurper-- to destroy His foes and to reign forever as the Lord of all. Yes, HE IS OUR LORD. (By H.L.H)

The kingdom of God is plagued with labor trouble. "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest , that he will send forth laborers into His harvest." Matthew 9:35-38. Stop telling excuses not to share the gospel, and explaining away the reasons not to involve in the commission which Jesus has given to us. Go and tell about this unconquerable Christ to the world, share about His redeeming love, contribute generously to the messengers who are out in the field, and help to demonstrate His love through compassion projects. Christian dare not be satisfied with feeble half-hearted efforts in this most vital of all possible works, for we deal with human souls in relationship to eternity.

Preach the Gospel

Recently while I was in North India for a gospel meeting, an anti-Christian person came to me and asked me: "What right have you Christians to come over here and bother these poor people with your religion?" For which I replied: " It is our right to give to others something that is too good to keep."

At a meeting some young people were discussing the text: "Ye are the salt of the earth." One suggestion after another was made as to the meaning of the salt in the verse. Said one, "Salt imparts a desirable flavor." Another suggested, "Salt preserves from decay." But I like best the words of a little eight year old girl who said, "Salt creates thirst." We are indeed the salt of the earth, but have souls been made thirsty for the Lord Jesus Christ because of our attitude and example? Do men want to know Christ because they know us? Do we have the mind of Christ, his compassion, his love? Can we love the poor, feed them and care for them?

A man who was visiting a rail a railroad yard saw a big engine side-tracked. He said, "The engine looks as if it could go. Why is it switched off here?" The workman replied: "It can pull itself all right, but there is something wrong with it. It can't pull anything else." The Christian who merely keeps himself going is not much of a Christian. It is the duty of a Christian to share the good news of the gospel and to demonstrate his love through compassion works.

"And how can they believe in him if they never have heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them unless someone sends him." Romans 10:14-15.

Go and tell about Jesus. If you cannot go, send some one else who can go and share about Jesus and his love.
